Since 2012 I began to experiment with natural materials for artistic creation (seeking to explore more sustainable and environmentally friendly forms), using mostly inks and liquid watercolors. However, during the pandemic I decided to transform my natural extractions into powdered pigment to bind them with various natural materials and thus create various types of paints. This specific piece is a record of that moment. Each cardboard is an imprint of my muller full of indigo with calcium carbonate and a touch of palo azul, bonded with a handmade watercolor solution. I leaned towards bluish tones because I wanted to associate the color with the phrase "feeling blue", because at that time I was going through two important duels: the separation from my partner and the deterioration of my father's health that culminated in his passing. The process of creating each one of the parts of these piece was cathartic and meditative for me. By observing each of the parts separately, I was observing micro-landscapes that, when seeing them all together, made me reflect on the macrocosm and the microcosm that shapes, envelops, join and constitutes us.
